Check out this guy's last paragraph. It almost sounds like a devine calling to work for the WCB.

"This workers’ compensation thing that we do is not a vocation, it is a calling [49].
We do it because we believe that people injured in the workplace are entitled to dignity
and quality of life and employability.
We do it despite our critics and they are many and vocal.
We do it because of our unabiding belief in the vision of Chief Justice Meredith that
Canada should be a decent and caring place [50].
We do it to make a difference.
It has been my privilege to deliver the 2008 Meredith presentation".

"No definitions of "unabiding" were found in English": Google Dictionary.

Hmmmmmm, unabide to me would mean 'not' to abide, which is what the Alberta WCB does when it comes to the Meredith Principles. Semantics, it's all about semantics, but the truth of the words shine bright.

Now for the scary part: People like Mr. Mah QC, actually believe, they have been 'Called' to destroy the lives of others.

OK I have read and reread this about 6 times and first thing that keeps coming to my mind is what kind of cheap drugs is this person on,as I read the first line that says"we believe that people injured in the workplace are entitled to dignity and quality of life and employability". Does this person even know the meaning of entitled and quality. Secondly this person says" We do it despite our critics and they are many and vocal". From what I have seen over the years the only critics that thse people have are the Injured and Disabled by occupation workers and what we are after is the dignity and quality of life that these Compesation boards are supposed to be giving us. What I find is what they say and what they do are two entirely different things. The actual mandate is to get the Injured and Disabled by occupation off of their books as quickly as possible, as their bottom line is NOT the dignity or quaility of life that they say in the above statement but their true bottom line is that dollar. If these type of people that run these boards truly cared like this person has stated in his speech, then those of us that have been injured would not be trying to get changes made at all levels of government in the way we the Disabled by occupation are treated. Dignity and Quality of life are what is truly needed so why can not these boards follow what they (by their spokespersons)say and do what truly needs to be done, change their rules and treat the Disabled by occupation the way it was laid out in the Meredith Report. This report was/is the foundation for the Workers Compensation system and having read it I can not find anywhere in the report that says they must treat the injured with harassment, lack of respect, delay, deny or generally treat us with total disregard of the rules. These people by way of manuliption of the wording have totally changed the way that the Injured and Disabled by occupation are now treated. What I feel needs to be done is to take all the changes that over the years have been done throw the changes out and truly treat us the way that Chief Justice Meredith laid it out in his report. This is what we the Injured and Disabled by occupation have been requesting for many many years, and we have been doing this not with or by the use of violence, deciption or manlipulation but by showing the trickery that has been used against us to make us look like (as the various boards state) malingeres, fakers, lazy, non-cooperative people that are just looking for a free ride. Please remember that this is only MY opinion and that I am only stating what I see. Common sence is what I use when I read these articles and is also what I use when I reply to these articles. I understand that not everyone will agree with what I write and this is your right. I am like everyone only human and yes I do make mistakes, but I am learning and until we are all treated with the dignity and respect that we are entitled to I will continue to deal with the unfair treatment that must be addressed and changed.
Well it is Obvious that his "Divine Caller" is not the one he wants us to think it is, due to the criminal acts he helps orchestrate and allows the employees to perform:

ahhh divinity a word from the scriptures a holy calling ... a holy pile of crap! If the WCB would read the meredith report .. they can not nor should not be receiving bonuses biased on getting injured workers back to work early!!

Nor should their employees have a gag order on them... divinity .. what a bunch of divine crap!
Reread this crap about,,,LOLOL He has divinely stated,,he's the given for ~injured workers~ dignity,,gees these peoples are in there own Bubble~~and decent and caring,, these peoples again at any Workers Compensation Board or ~arms length,,,are of a matter of fact all part of a Collaborative effort to make large effort to screw everyone of us!! The laws they spit on them, even the ones whom are suppose enforce the laws they also are part of this effort! such as above,,
and policy regulations,,even new persons that comes through the door at the Board they rewrite policy,,for the next person with similar injury or illness,, and yes it's unlawfull but yet continues!!!!! good old Meredith ,,None At the Board~some are not even aware of what is occurring at the Board~~you know above your pay scale,,, adhere to this fundamental importantly ~Meredith ,,they have no moral code,,how can they find the car?? let alone be in my best interest when continued crimes against injured workers are very visible,,and more of it,,,,some of us here,,has had the dauntingness to be injured awhile,,so we see a spade when it's a spade,,umm comes with the territory,,fighting for justice is commonly viewing revolutionary,,militant,, in todays views...subject to many occurrences of illegal behaviour from THE WCB and agents of them...
Douglas Mah, is now the President Elect of the Alberta Law Society, as if they don't have enough Judicial Immunity now they control all the lawyers in Alberta; was hard enough to find one before, as I have been told by another claimant that their lawyer has mysteriously quit on them with no explanation, am looking for more claimants that have been subject to the same , as already been told of lawyers taking the claimants case for months then they hit a wall and cannot go any farther, taking the money and running is all that has been happening.

A Doctor Writes:

"I experienced some feeling of pressure from the WCB in relation to one of my cases. After submitting my report, I received a letter from Dr. Kevin A. Bourke, Medical Adviser, Central North Shore, informing me that he would not process the invoice for my fee unless I edited my report to conform to his desires. Fortunately, unbeknownst to him, I had already received my fee. I, of course, did not edit my report. But I did inform him of the rationale for the recommendations that I had made. I might say that I was somewhat affronted that a WCB staff member would request that an independent professional change her report in order to conform to the board's wishes and in particular, threaten to withhold payment."

Dr. Bourke is currently (as of 2006) Chair and Chief Examiner of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia's Clinician Assessment for Practice Program (CAPP) Examination Committee, which evaluates international medical graduates for defined licensure in Nova Scotia.

Poor physical, mental and psychological results from having to deal with the WCB, is the 'achilles heel' of the of the workplace safety insurance board (WSIB), and all other compensation boards across Canada.

Write your respective Minister's of Labour and ask why the provincial government is complicit in allowing further physical, mental, psychological and emotional abuse come to disabled workers.

Always speak your heart.
